Lost Hard Disk Space

Have you ever feel being cheated by hard disk sellers?
Bought a 160 or 200GB hard disk and find that all you have is 127GB in total?

No, it's not the hard disk sellers' fault........ IT'S MICROSOFT~!!!!
So as some of you may know from my log, I've "recently" bought a new computer with 160GB hard disk. So as I happily unwrap it and as I start installing window, I found out there's only 127GB of total hard disk space available. Well, so, bleh, I felt being cheated.

OK, so now as I have finished all my exams and stuff, I started look into this problem and found out that it is Microsoft's fault for the loss of my precious 21GB of space.

It is basically because Windows default doesn't support big hard disk (anything below 120 should be fine by default).

Procedures (For 2000/XP Only) -------------------
For Win2000/XP with hard disk size 137GB or more only
It is also suggested that you read the details in article Q305098 mentioned above first. I have NO responsibility of any unlikely demage (eg. data loss) this may cause to your computer
So to do so, you must first install the newest service pack to be safe. But for minimal, you must install service pack 3 for win 2000. Remember don't uninstall the service pack, else you may experience data loss.

After that, you go to start -> run -> type "regedit" click enter -> locate the following registry folder
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Atapi\Parameters
and in this folder, you add a new value with the following attributes.

Value name: EnableBigLba
Data type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 0x1

And then, you close it. Go to control panel -> administrative tools -> computer management -> disk management.
You'll find your "lost space" not yet partitioned now. So you just click on that chunk, right click, and then click create partition, and DADA~~ you got ur space back.

A side note, if it still doesn't sum up to 160 or 200 or whatever ur disk is said to have, don't worry about it, because the label on ur hard disk uses a slightly different way in calculating disk space than how computer actually calculate (which is a little bit less say errrrrr a few GB). *Detail crossed out again*.

Artificial Artificial Intelligence

no, i didn't make any typo.......... it's really "artificial" x2.

what do you know? ppl think that AI is cool, but AI is still AI and they can't answer any non-1010-logical problems which you keep asking urself everyday. So, what can you do if you want AI to answer those non-1010 problems? If you feed in the question to an AI, it will never return a solution. If you ask an AAI, it will answer "Artificial Artificial Intelligence".

How the hack it can answer such question? errrrrrr, it's answered by ppl, hahaha. Basically users feed in a question through some application, the question is instantly directed to a person (human -_-") through internet, and "Artificial Artificial Intelligence Human" right-away answer your question.

I'm not kidding, there's really this service coming up soon by Amazon. But of course, you have to pay $ for this "AI" to solve ur problem.

Can somebody tell me my fortune?.......... maybe they need Artificial x3 Intelligence to answer my question, haha.

For the first time, i took some photos from my S40 digital camera to the print shop to test out the quality.... the prints are ok, but not too satisfying. The images are slightly too dim when there's too much light -_-" (how contradicting)... should manually adjust the settings instead of using the auto.

As for micro/super micro, i'm pretty satisfy with the details my camera can capture, but still, coloring is still a minor issue if using auto settings.

One more thing, you should crop the photos using photo editing program b4 bringing them to the print shop. The printing ppl often don't really care how they crop your picture.

Photo size is 4x6" (can have other sizes like 5x7)... which is slightly narrower than what digital camera captures. The camera usually shoot at a ratio of 3:4 (eg. 800x600) while the prints' ratio is 2:3 (900x600 or 800x533). So you better know what photo size you want and crop it first urself.

Another interesting thing i found out: 1024x800 (~200-350kb) quality is good enough to get a good 4x6 print.
